Some stories belong to a community long before they reach a stage. Elaine Romero’s Barrio Hollywood finds her heartbeat in a family trying to hold themselves together after a difficult new reality.
Barrio Hollywood will be presented entirely in Spanish. Produced by Alebrijes del Valle, founded by NVC alumnus Andres Agustin Barrera, who shares “I hope what this production can steward for all audiences – from those who are visiting us from the vineyards to the seasoned theater patrons of the valley – is the gift of grit. Grit to exist. Grit to evolve. Grit to accept. Without it, we can’t stand in our own spirit. With it, we can stand with each other.”
