Jennifer King - Artistic Director
Jennifer King is the Artistic Director of Napa Valley Conservatory Theater/Shakespeare Napa Valley at Napa Valley College, where she is a full-time tenured Professor of Theater Arts. She served as Executive/Artistic Director of Sonoma County Repertory Theater from 2003 through August 2008 and has held artistic leadership positions with the Dallas Theater Center and The California Shakespeare Theater.
Her directing and teaching credits include work for the California Shakespeare Theater (Associate Artist), Dallas Theater Center, Sonoma County Repertory Theater, Berkeley Playhouse, Playground, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, University of California, Davis, Foothill College, Solano College Theater, and Napa Valley College where she founded Napa Valley Conservatory Theater/Shakespeare Napa Valley and directed The People's Temple, "Art," Disney's Aladdin, Man of La Mancha, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Seussical, Death of a Salesman, La Cage aux Folles, The Laramie Project, South Pacific, among others. Shakespeare Napa Valley credits include Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew and the upcoming production of Much Ado About Nothing.
A recipient of the 2000 Theatre Communications Group Observership Award, Jennifer is the co-editor of Reflections of Diversity, a multicultural scene book. She holds an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in Drama from the University of Southern California.
